1. EMC SIGN SIZE:
Minimum text size is determined by viewing distance and traffic speed.
2. EMC SIGN RESOLUTION:
Resolution is determined by the number of lines, message, graphic and/or video content requirements.
3. BARGAIN EMC's:
LED diodes are graded for quality of colour and power efficiency.
Look for 10,000 nits brightness displays which will provide a longer life of the electronic sign.
High grade LED diodes cost more than low grade or medium grade diodes.
This will affect electrical operating costs and colour quality.
4. OPERATING COSTS:
Lower grade diodes being less efficient, plus circuitry architecture affect electrical operating costs.
Less efficient EMC's require 2 to 3 times more electricity to power the same size and brightness as high efficient
EMC displays.
Huge money can be saved by selecting a high efficiency EMC display.
5. PICTURE QUALITY:
Blotchy white and pale colours are attributable to low grade LED diodes.
Visible grid lines can also be a problem with some EMC brands.
6. WARRANTY:
At Rolands we provide a 7 year parts and 7 year labour warranty.
A 5 year OEM parts with 1 year labour warranty should be a minimum.
Proper grounding and bonding is a pre-requisite for these long term warranties.
7. FUTURE MAINTENANCE:
Your sign supplier should maintain an inventory of LED parts and have the proper service equipment and personel.
Most EMC's are made in Asia and ordering parts can be time consuming or expensive for air freight.
8. SUPPORT:
You should ecpect lifetime technical and software support with free software updates. Cloud based messages
creation and scheduling ensures life time sofware updates and maintenance.
